Frequently Asked Questions

Can this hearing aid be paired directly to my Bluetooth TV?
The Virto R model can, though Phonak doesn't recommend it, as it can cause excessive battery drain. Phonak recommends purchasing the TV Connector accessory for this instead.
Is this hearing aid Bluetooth compatible?
The Virto R model is Bluetooth compatible and offers direct audio streaming from almost all phones. The Virto Titanium, and Virto I NW O models are not Bluetooth compatible.
Does this hearing aid allow for hands-free phone calls?
The Virto R model offers hands-free phone calls. The other models don't have Bluetooth and thus do not offer this feature.
Is this hearing aid Roger compatible?
Yes- the Virto R model can pair directly to Roger devices.
How many hours a day do the batteries last?
With no streaming, your batteries will last 24 hrs. With several hours a day of streaming, the minimum your batteries should last is 16 hrs.
What is the lifespan of the rechargeable batteries?
Expect your battery to last 4-6 years. The battery is built-in to the hearing aid, so when it needs to be replaced, your hearing care provider will ship the hearing aid to Phonak and they'll do it. Fees will usually apply, ranging from $75-$300.
How will I know when my battery needs to be charged?
You will hear two beeps when the hearing aids battery is low. You will have approximately 60 minutes before you have to charge the hearing aids, after this time the hearing aid automatically shuts down.
What if I'm on-the-go and my battery dies?
This is a risk with all rechargeable hearing aids, but with normal daily charging, it should be rare. The Virto R Infinio will give you a low-battery warning (about an hour of use remaining) before it shuts down, which gives you time to plan. If you’re on the go and the battery does die, there’s no way to swap in a disposable battery. You’ll need to recharge the hearing aids in their charger using a power source (wall outlet, car USB, laptop, or portable power bank). A full recharge takes up to about 3 hours. Unlike some larger chargers, the Virto charger does not have an internal battery, so it won’t charge the hearing aids unless it’s plugged into power. For most people, this isn’t an issue day-to-day, but if you’re traveling or out for long days, carrying the charger and a small power bank is smart planning."
