ReSound Custom Hearing Aids

ReSound custom hearing aids are made from an impression or scan of your own ears, so they fit you and only you. The current custom range is built on ReSound Sensia, ReSound's newest premium family (August 2026), and comes in three styles: Completely-in-Canal (CIC), In-the-Canal (ITC) and In-the-Ear (ITE). Because they sit in the ear, they use the shape of your ear to collect sound naturally, they don't get in the way of glasses, and they are easy to put in and take out.

Custom styles and sizes

ReSound makes custom hearing aids in three sizes. The more of the ear a style fills, the easier it is to handle and the more room it has for features. Each picture shows one style in ReSound's color range.

ReSound completely-in-canal (CIC) custom hearing aids in six colors

Completely-in-Canal (CIC)

The smallest size. It sits deep in the ear canal for a discreet, wear-and-forget fit and is non-wireless.

ReSound in-the-canal (ITC) custom hearing aids in six colors

In-the-Canal (ITC)

A small size and the most popular custom style, with two microphones and wireless streaming.

ReSound in-the-ear (ITE) custom hearing aids in six colors

In-the-Ear (ITE)

The largest size and the easiest to handle, with the full set of features and a rechargeable option.

Frequently Asked Questions

What custom styles are available?
There are three. Completely-in-Canal (CIC) is ReSound's smallest custom style and sits deep in the ear canal for a discreet, simple solution. In-the-Canal (ITC) is the most popular custom style: small, but with two microphones and wireless streaming. In-the-Ear (ITE) is the easiest custom style to handle and has the full set of features, which makes it a good choice for people with dexterity challenges.
Who are custom hearing aids suited for?
ReSound's CIC, ITC and ITE styles are all designed for mild to severe hearing loss. Your audiologist will look at your hearing test, the shape of your ear canal and what matters most to you (discretion, ease of handling or streaming) to recommend the right style.
Are ReSound custom hearing aids rechargeable?
The ITC and ITE styles are available in rechargeable versions with a dedicated Custom Charger, and in versions that use standard zinc-air batteries. The CIC uses a standard battery. On ReSound Sensia, the rechargeable ITC and ITE are rated for about 24 hours of typical use on one charge.
Can I stream phone calls and music?
Yes, with the wireless ITC and ITE styles. They support Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast and can stream calls and music from iPhone, iPad and compatible Android phones. The CIC is non-wireless, which keeps it as small as possible, so it does not stream.
How is a custom hearing aid made?
At your appointment we take an impression or scan of your ear canals. ReSound uses it to build a shell that matches your ears exactly. When it arrives, we fit and program it to your hearing test results and make sure it is comfortable.
Can I control them with an app?
Yes. The wireless custom styles work with the ReSound Smart 3D app, where you can adjust volume and sound, switch programs, connect to Auracast broadcasts and ask us for remote fine-tuning. They also work with ReSound's wireless accessories, such as the TV Streamer.
Are they water resistant?
Yes. ReSound Sensia hearing aids, including the custom styles, are IP68-rated for water and dust resistance, so everyday sweat and rain are not a problem. They should still not be worn swimming or in the shower.
